1. Jhumka-less - The Dark Night

In the dimly lit alley, the girl strolls gracefully in her white Anarkali kurti, engrossed in a conversation with her friend. The night surrounds her like a shroud, but she radiates beauty.

"Areeyyy I told you not to go this late but you still went" The person on the other side said in worry.

"Nothing will happen to me okay and if something happens then you know right that I know Karate and I know cricket , so no problem " she said in confidence.

"Yeahh but what has cricket to do in it ?" She asked in confusion.

"Areyyyy kuttiyaa I know how to play cricket so when any chor will come then I will hit him with my bat and I will shout "ayeeee chaukaaaaa mara re" I will do like this " she said while shouting.

Kuttiyaa = female dog

Chor = thief

(ayeeee I hit a six)

"Okayy okayy jii samajh aagaya mujhe aur ab tu jaldi ghar pe aa" she said while laughing.

(I understood and now you come home fast)

Suddenly, her attention shifts to a man in pain, a gunshot wound on his chest.

"Sun tujhe mai badh me call karti hu thike" she said and cut the phone.

(Listen I will call you afterwards)

Concerned, she tries to approach him but stops by a voice, her inner voice, the devil "oyee don't go there, you are going to help him ?, if something happens, that unconscious man would have to help you" she gets lost in her thoughts and soon her thoughts were broken by her another voice, her outer voice, the angel "you should help him that's good manners na, mahaveer bhagwan always said to help others even if it's risky" she said in concern.

She decided to go towards him, she approached him and in attempting to wake him, gently she says " Mr. Jiii ohhhh Mr. Jiiii ". She tries to wake him up but failed miserably.

Then a sound echos in the alley, failing, she resorts to a resounding slap, startling him awake. His eyes meet hers, though not fully open.

She says " Mr. Jiii are you okk? " Without letting him answer she quickly responds to herself "what am I saying you got shot how are you fine" she proceeds further "you wait here I'm coming with help ok"

She reassures him of calling the police and rendering aid, but he grips her hand, unyielding.

"Don't worry I won't leave you here I'm going to call someone for help" she again assures him.

Despite her attempts to convey help, he remains fixated, his gaze intense.

With determination, she withdraws her hand, " Take these ok if I won't come for you then I will definitely come for them okk" she said handing him her jhumkas and withdrawing her hand, leaving behind her jhumkas, as a token of promise.

Returning with the police, she finds an empty scene, no trace of blood.

"Mam"

"Mam"

"Mamm" the police man shouted gaining the mam back to her senses.

"There is no one here mam I think you are imagining things and please go home it is almost 1 am it is not safe for you at this dark night " he said.

"No no I'm not imagining things I saw him here he was laying here and there was so much blood this was fully messed " she uttered in shocked while showing the place.

"Heyy bhagwan apna maut ka tamasha dhikha ke mere 5000 rupee ke jhumke leke baagh gaya" she said while crying and sitting on the road.

(Ohh God he showed his death drama and robbed my 5000 rupees jumkas)

Oh Teri Nazron Ne Kuch Aisa Jadoo Kiya

"Yess" she uttered while crying.

"Your phone" he pointed towards the phone.

She accepted the call and cried "diuuuu ek chor apni maut ka tamasha dhikha ke mere 5000 rupee ke jhumke leke baagh gaya " the other person and the police man covered there ears hearing her cries.

(Diu one thief showed his death drama and robbed my 5000 rupees jumkas)

"Diu mujhe na chakkar aa rhe h-" before she could utter her sentence fully she almost fainted.

( Diu I'm feeling dizzy-)

She comes in her senses and in anger accusingly, she calls him a thief, but the police dismiss her account, cautioning her about the dangers of being out late and leaves after telling her to go home.

She's left standing in the night, jhumka-less in The Dark Night, with a tale that may forever remain a mystery or will this mystery would reveal itself with the time.

Jhumka = Indian traditional old type of earrings.

Jhumke = plural form of jhumka.

What do you think was he really injured? Or? Did he fake it, the blood, the gunshot everything? And the main thing who was he?
